Laraymia Williams Fences

Literary Device

There are many literary devices in fences. One literay devise is the characters and the conflicted relationship between the men in the Maxson family. There is a pattern of conflict that stated with Troy and his farther which then stemed off to Troy and his son. There main conflicted is having the obligation or responsibility for a child and not the love for a child.

The main problem Troy had was not letting his son know that he was not just a responsibility but someone he loved. This video clip is a scene from the play fences were Cory Troy's son asked him why doesn't he like him.

This poem is by Ivana Suazo it talks about how an unloved child feels but it speeks of how it can take on person to turn that loss of hope around.

 Heartless

I wana soar high as the eagle in the sky
Feel the breeze and see the horizons of the everyday
But my wings aren't letting me fly
I've been hurt, an arrow straight through my heart
shot blooded wound

A salty waterfall running down my cheeks
The little unloved child smothers his hand through my wound
Licks it off & sticks his fingers through it
I cry and cringe of pain
Someone Help Me? !

Little unloved child cries 'don't worry birdie I'll help you! '
I stare at him in confusion

How will he help?
Does he know what Love feels at all?

He sticks his fingers deeper and deeper
My heart spills all that sweet blood on his fingers
He laughs and licks his fingers
I cry
Someone Help Me? !

He leaves
I'm left worse then what I was before
This time I'm left without a heart
Coldhearted and broken
I cry for the last time
SOMEONE HELP ME! ! ! !

Dark and grey clouds is all I see
Sunset of the day has ended
Eyes closing
And I dream of what afterlife would be

Someone Help Me? ! ! !
