Literary DeviceThere are many literary devices in fences. One literay devise is the characters and the conflicted relationship between the men in the Maxson family. There is a pattern of conflict that stated with Troy and his farther which then stemed off to Troy and his son. There main conflicted is having the obligation or responsibility for a child and not the love for a child. The main problem Troy had was not letting his son know that he was not just a responsibility but someone he loved.
